Who We Are

"Reducing the Traumatic Effects of Abuse and Abandonment with

Tenderness and Compassion"

Norma Jean ~

Has been the primary force behind the rescue.  With her ability to calmly win the confidence of even the most traumatized animal she has helped many abused pets to recover to the point of being social.  She has used most of her time and energy in creating a rescue that will shelter all types of animals.  She has worked with Veternarian's and SPCA's in a joint effort to help abused and severely abused animals.  Most of the success stories include her specialized way of gaining the animals trust and giving them the individual attention they crave and need in order to heal.

Michael Anthony~

With his experience in caring for exotic animals he has helped the rescue to widen out in it's animal care.  He has personally cared for birds, snakes, turtles, chinchilla's and ferrets.  This is beneficial for the exotic pets that become abandoned in our communities.  Prior to these pets being rehomed Michael will walk the adoptive family through the steps in caring for such animals.

Partners~

Our partners consist of many Rescue's across the nation.  With their continued help we hope to improve the lives of many abused animals.

Ambassadors~

(Your Name Could Be Here)

Deb Atkinson - A wonderful addition to our rescue.  She has provided food, love, and support without even being asked.  She shares her time helping by contacting the community in locating and rehoming abandoned pets.

Lisa Lemmon - An amazing woman that seems to have no end to her energy.   We can always count on her for ideas in keeping the animals safe and she is available for excellent foster care.

How We Help The Pet Community

24 Hour Emergency Services
Shelter              Rescue              Protection

We attempt to provide shelter to strays (lost, abandoned, run-away) pets only if our rescue is temporarily housing until claimed by the original family.  According to Law.

In Florida, you are legally required to report a stray animal to animal control or a local shelter and take reasonable steps to find its owner, as pets are considered property. Keeping a stray animal without reporting it can result in criminal charges, and it is illegal to rehome, adopt, or sell a lost pet you find.

It is understandable that some families are unable to house a found pet due to certain circumstances.   We do insist that the person(s) help in contacting the Animal Control and also in finding the original owner(s).  We suggest a simple post on Facebook in the public group: Lost and Found Pets of Putnam County.

Why We Do This

The Bible states that humans are obligated to take care of animals, as it is seen as a responsibility from God.  A righteous person cares for the needs of their animals, while the wicked are cruel. The verse highlights that how one treats animals reflects their character; kindness to animals is presented as a godly trait, while cruelty, even in seemingly kind acts by the wicked, exposes a deeper cruelty. It emphasizes that compassion extends to all of God's creation, not just other humans.

“But ask the animals, and they will teach you, or ask the birds of the air, and they will tell you. Speak to the earth, and it will teach you, or let the fish of the sea tell you. Every one of these knows that the hand of the LORD has done this.

~ Job 12:7-10

"A righteous man has regard for the life of his livestock, but the mercy of the wicked is cruel".    Proverbs 12:10

The moment this little dog entered our lives, we realized we had a special purpose. It became our duty, a heartfelt obligation to serve and bring joy.
